So this show has been recommended to us by my brother-in-law and we just got around to watching it tonight. It is HILARIOUS. We were seriously dying as we watched it, lol. For those who are wondering what it’s about:

A suspended lawyer is forced to enroll in a community college with an eclectic staff and student body.

There’s more to it then that but basically it makes fun of community colleges and the fact that no one really learns anything and it talks about the type of people in community college. It’s definitely worth watching if you haven’t and can be found on Hulu!

If you do watch it, please let me know what you think.

Well Checkup & Black Desert Online

Well Checkup & Black Desert Online

The Goombas had their 2 week well checkup today and things are looking well. Tiberius weighed in at 6.5lbs and Tempe weighed in at 5.3lbs, so they are gaining weight like they should be. Their pediatrician was very happy to see their progress and when I mentioned I was exclusively pumping, she was very supportive and didn’t give me any push back. In fact, she recommends I try pumping every 4 hours during the early hours of the morning so I can get more sleep, and while I’d love to take her up on her offer, until my supply is established, I think it best if I stick to every 3 hours. She did say that I still have some time to build my supply and stated I was doing everything I should be doing. That little validation goes a long way, especially when the last thing I want to do is get up at 3am to pump.

The other day I meant to post the temporary character I created for the half hour that I played the close beta for Black Desert Online. Their character creation system is ridiculous, both in a good and bad way. Good, because there are so many potential options that you really can make a character that is unique and bad in the sense that there are too many options, especially if you’re just starting out with the game and you’re not familiar with how their character creation works. Still, compared to a lot of the other games out there, the customization options blow the rest out of the water and thankfully, they have a standalone character creation program so you can tweak your character and learn the different options available so you’re not spending ALL your time during launch, working on the kinks and specifics when all you want to do is play.

I doubt I’ll have much time to really play and invest in the game but it’s still neat to see how far things have progressed in the world of MMOs. Hopefully, in a few months I’ll have the time to dedicate to it, but for now, I leave you with a few images of my temporary character. If you’re impressed, be sure to check out the game!

Life On The Other Side

Life On The Other Side

I spent some time today working on my Twitch stuff and managed to finish my “Starting Soon” scene. It took a bit to get it set up the way I wanted it, but I am overall happy with the design. I think once I get a little more comfortable, I’ll likely change it, but for now, it suits my purpose.

Now that I’ve finished that bit, it’s time to move on to the overlay for in-game, however before I can do that, I need to actually set up my UI, specifically for Blade & Soul since I haven’t actually gotten around to playing the game much enough to figure out how I want to lay it out. I’m still happy with the little bit of progress I have made and hopefully, I’ll feel motivated enough tomorrow to actually sit down and figure stuff out. We’ll have to see.

Tonight, we are having a friend and some family over for dinner. The family coming over will likely spend the majority of the time talking to my mother-in-law and my friend and I will probably do something like play a game or watch a show. It will really depend on my mood. As is the modus operandi lately, sleep has not been forth coming so I may decide that it’s all a bit too much and hiding in my bedroom is the better alternative. We will see.

I’ve been having the itch to play around with my Silhouette but exhaustion has gotten the better of me and any remaining brain power I have, I try to hoard like a crack addict on meth, simply because I figure it could go to better use. I’m at the stage where I am absolutely ready for these babies to make their appearance but at the same time realize just how life changing their arrival will be so I’m in a purgatory of some sorts. I readily admit I’m not quite ready to cross that line into motherhood namely because I know with it comes the fear, anxiety, and the self-doubt. I know ultimately it’s not my choice to make but I suppose I still have time to hold on to my little slice of reality until it all gets turned upside down. At least, I have help, right?

Microphones: The Big Debate

Recently, I dusted off my dSLR and pulled it out to record an unboxing of my Razer Naga Epic Chroma, which I still need to finish processing so I can upload it, but we’ll talk about that later.

In any event, my current set up is to record video on the camera and use a portable recording device for the audio. It works for what I need, but it can be a pain in the but because it’s currently on a boom stand which just adds another element to the recording that I have to make sure does not show up on video.

Don’t get me wrong, I really do like the mic but it would be nice if I had something that was geared more towards what I intend to use it for. With that in mind, I have started researching microphones, particularly a focused mic that rejects sound from the side and rear of the microphone and excels, instead on picking up sounds directly in front of it.

A shotgun microphone seems to be my best option, however it’s something that will need to wait as it is certainly not in the budget. I am still doing some more research to determine which microphone I want to go with, but I imagine this will go a LONG way in helping with video recording and I can use my Razer Seiren for specifically for podcast purposes.

This week has definitely been on off week for me given how little sleep I have gotten so I am still researching and then hopefully, I’ll have a good idea of what I want to use and can pop it into my wish list for safekeeping.

For those of you who do video recording, what type of equipment do you use, specifically what microphone or microphones have you used/considered? What have you found works best for your use case?

A Diabolically Delicious Halloween

Well, hello there my pretties! Mwehehehehe~

The ever-so-lovely, absolutely NOT evil Administration of Vicarious would like to take a moment to update you on the happenings of our little community, as well as urge those of you who have drifted away to come on back! If you’re on the fence about whether we’re worth your while, allow me to ensnare you in my wicked little spe—er, breakdown of community events. ;)

Why don’t we first start with a humble bragging of what you may have missed if you have been away from us for the last month:

September brought forth the RETURN OF THE DEAD.. er.. Hoarders. Return of the Hoarders. It is of course thriving and you are more than welcome to come on back and jump in on the fun! A little birdie even told me that there were SIX new decks added this month! Shh.. it’ll be our little secret.

We also had our very first Vicarious V-Crate! I’ve heard nothing but good things from the recipients, so I think it’s safe to label that one a rousing success! Boy, I bet you wish you would have been there.. Alas! Perhaps you will have your chance in the distant future…

Now for October.. there are many tricks and treats patiently awaiting your arrival!

Our main bloodline for activity is our Deatheaters vs. Aurors event! You don’t know it yet, but you’ve already been sorted into your house (Yes, even YOU!) though you’ll just have to wait and see later today where you fall. Which will it be.. good or evil? Let the hand of fate (or a randomizer, fate’s hands are a liiiiittle busy currently) decide. Whether you are the evilest of Deatheathers or the most pure of Aurors, you will share a forum within your house where you can discuss your life choices and prepare yourselves for participation in the ACTIVITIES! (This is to be announced, we’re not spoiling ALL of the fun, guys..) Each forum will be accessible only to the members of that house, so there will be no Deatheaters in the Auror common room and vice versa.

Our first set of activities will be for our houses to get to know each other. So, for the week of October 3-9, we will be appointing the Head Girl of each house as well as engaging in “Get to know you!” activities.

For ACTIVE participants of the October festivities, there will be a superawesomefantastical Grab Bag full of goodies! OooooOooooOooo.. doesn’t it just make you giddy with delight?! You MUST be active and really giving it your all in order for your Grab Bag to make it your way, but I promise it’s so very worth it!

Last but not least, for the entirety of the month of October, we are offering FREE (yes .. free!) username changes! In order to take advantage of this amazing offer, just go into your Board Preferences and select ‘Change Username’ on the left-hand side! Once you have had your username changed, you will need to notify an Administrator so that you can regain access to anything you may have been a part of before (ie: Hoarders). Take advantage of this offer before it goes away!

And that is everything I dare give away to you for now.. unless you come on over and check things out yourself!

Now doesn’t that just sound like the start of something.. magical?

Interested in joining the community? There’s a nifty little button in the side bar under JOIN ME that will transport you to the fun! Keep in mind, it’s advised you fill out your profile information as fully as possible so the Administrators know you’re not a bot/spam. ;)
